Client

BeLoved is a multilingual online store offering a variety of accessories, including earrings, necklaces, and bracelets. The store belongs to our long-term client, Germerott Bienentechnik GmbH, who also operates a successful online multilingual store at http://bienentechnik.com/.

Starting point

Our client approached us with a request to develop a budget-friendly website for selling accessories throughout Europe. A key requirement of the request was that the website had to be a styled copy of their existing website – http://bienentechnik.com/

Goal

To create a copy of the online store https://bienentechnik.com/ on the Magento 2 CMS retaining the existing functionality, which will sell jewelry, and to change the color scheme of the theme to match the client’s logo.

Progress

First, we prepared the server and made a clone of http://bienentechnik.com/ on it. Then, we cleaned the database, as it contained data from the existing website, such as customer information, purchases, products, categories, and so on. As the client did not request any additional plugins, we simply set up the existing plugins for the new store. Following this, we restyled the existing theme to match the client’s logo. Finally, we configured the categories enabling the client to proceed with adding their products to the website.

Result

As a result, the client received a new platform for selling jewelry. There was no need for the client to switch to a different CMS and learn how to use it. The client has been using Magento 2 CMS for a long time and decided to stick with it.

This project is considered budget-friendly because the website was not created from scratch; it is a modified copy of the existing site. Most of the commercial plugins can be installed on multiple platforms, so there is no need to purchase them, including the theme. These factors contributed to a significant cost reduction, estimated at two to three times compared to a completely new development.
