Pearl of Gozo logo and website development
Client
Deborah approached DesignRussia to help launch her small Bed and Breakfast, and one of the crucial parts of her plan was getting a focused and dedicated website to attract more guests. Everything was almost read on her side, including a beautiful historic building, she just lacked a great logo and a website.
GOAL
We wanted to bring Deborah’s vision to life and bring out the colors and style of the beautiful Mediterranean island of Gozo mentioned even in the Homer’s Odyssey and a premium experience guests would get while on the island.
PROGRESS
Usually, we first get you a few sketches or options of an idea to choose from before proceeding with further development, to make sure we use your budget as efficiently as possible. This case wasn’t an exception, and in fact, was almost a textbook example of this approach.
First, we created wireframes of the main pages according to the sitemap and navigation defined earlier, and worked with the client to make sure it makes sense from their perspective as well. When the wireframes were approved, we designed the home page, category page, product page, and other key pages.
Deborah did have a vision for what she wanted, but not quite how to get there. We kicked off the work with creating a logo, based on her ideas about Mediterranean spirit and a restaurant she owned a while back. We discussed it over a call, and asked for samples of a dinner plate from that old restaurant, and some references as to what makes Mediterranean special in her eyes.
Based on that, we created 3 initial concepts, and settled on one that was almost perfect for Deborah. We used that logo with only minor edits, like adding a few strokes around the sun and replacing the color of the text for more contrast.

REVIEW
We also received amazing feedback from Deborah, which made all those nights worth it 🙂
“I just LOVE my site and the logo they created for me, it’s exactly what I had in mind, and they are really good in read your thoughts, and make it real.I liked that they challenged my ideas and gave their own opinions. With that strategy, I got the most out of DesignRussia’s services. They shared valuable advice, which ultimately improved our site.”
